Voting information

Eligibility to vote:

Athletes who (i) competed in at the current Winter Olympic Games (Milano Cortina 2026) OR (ii) an athlete representative of any Olympic NSO represented by a Class A Member whose sport is part of the program of that Games, but has no athletes competing at that games.

Election voting process:

For this year’s election of Commission members, voting will take place using the third-party online voting platform called Simply Voting (simplyvoting.com). The platform will be managed by Sport Law, who is acting as our independent third-party scrutineer. The platform is available in both English and French languages.

On April 20, at approximately 9:00am EST, all athletes will receive a voting email from the address ‘vote@simplyvoting.com’ which will include a link to the voting website and a unique ID and password that is authentic to each voting athlete (to ensure voting validity). If you wish to participate in the election of Commission members, please follow the instructions within the voting email and participate in the online election ballot no later than May 3 at 5:00pm EST.

If you do not see the voting email in your inbox on April 20, please be sure to check all folders within your email account (Junk/Spam/Other) to see if it ended up there first. If you still cannot find the voting email after 12:00pm EST on April 20, and you wish to vote, please contact Jason Robinson at jer@sportlaw.ca who will assist any athletes who are having difficulty accessing the voting platform.

Only voting athletes will receive the voting email and will only be permitted to vote one time.

Who to vote for:

As noted, voting will take place from April 20-May 3. YOU CAN VOTE FOR UP TO 4 CANDIDATES, out of the list of candidates.

At the conclusion of the election process on May 3, four commission Winter Games members will be elected to the Athletes’ Commission. They will be the four candidates who are identified by the voting scrutineer as having received the highest number of votes. In the event of any potential tie votes that effect the top-four candidates, we will advise the athletes accordingly.
